Judd Apatow-Couldn't keep a show in the air to save his life

So most people know Judd Apatow as the main creative force behind the great "Freaks & Geeks" show, but what a lot of people don't know is that he's had a hand in several great TV shows and movies over the years.

Before "Freaks" he was a writer/producer on such comedic heavyweights(heh heh, blatent foreshadowing) as "The Ben Stiller Show", "The Critic" and he even got an excutive producer credit on "The Larry Sanders Show". After the Stiller show fizzled, he wrote the script for the kiddie flick "Heavyweights" which starred the aforementioned Ben Stiller, but the movie was a pile of crap. He also was a writer on the awesome, but ill conceived "TV Wheel" show which I'll deal with in another post.

Anyway, Apatow is mainly known as the most creative, talented guy in Hollywood who just CAN'T keep a show on the air. "The Ben Stiller Show" didn't last past the first season, "The Critic" got cancelled twice. Everyone knows what's happened to "Freaks and Geeks", "TV Wheel" barely even made it to pilot. The post "Geeks" show "Undeclared" was declared unairable in a short space of time. "Life on Parole" and "Sick In The Head" went no where...

It's sad, Apatow is obviously very talented, but he's like fucking POISON for tv shows. He needs to stick to the movies, where he's had a better track record.
